We spent three days with Raju and Kalpesh for a truly enjoyable Indian wedding celebration. The first day was for Mehndi, the second day the Garba, and the third day was the wedding ceremony (coming in Part 2).
Practicing for the steps they would take during the main ceremony
DJ Raju, setting up her iTunes playlist for the night
Plus live music, and Coca-Cola! Coke seems to be
a strong bond between Indian and American cultures!

Such beautiful details to capture
The henna artist begins on Raju’s first arm
Only the bride gets henna all the way up her arms; for everyone else it’s just on the hands
During the henna application, you can’t use your own hands
There are symbolic pieces within the entire design; this one represents the bride
There was some friendly debate as to whether Kalpesh was supposed
to get his hands done too, so he had them done lightly
The dancing occurred at the DFW Hindu Temple
